ADLM Error Message: Unable to obtain HostID

A client rebooted their adlm server. The log is shown below. IP addresses
are x'ed out. What causes the message "Warning: Unable to obtain HostID
#1...?" I believe that they already tried to re-enter the authorization
    codes.

    Nevermind. New auth codes worked.

Re: ADLM Error Message: Unable to obtain HostID

    Drew,

The "Unable to obtain HostID" message is not a fatal error. It means that
your network adapter is sloe to fully initialize. AdLM is detecting this
condition and waiting for the adapter to come up before it authenticates.

Now, for the fatal error in this log:
    00-May-25 13:02:03: Authorization failure; key c:\adlm\KEY\140.lic only
    valid for: wyd_pxy01.
When you see a line like this, AdLM is not going to issue licenses. In this
case the hostname of the AdLM server is the same as the hostname mentioned
in the error. This indicates that the Server Code has changed on this
server since an authorization code was obtained. This can happen for a
variety of causes. If changes to the network properties have been made or
the network adapter was changed, the server code cane change. In this case,
generate a new server code using AdLM Admin, get a new auth code and things
should remain stable as long as your network properties remain unchanged.
If however yes to any of the following about your AdLM server, the server
code can/will float causing continual failure problems, so you will have to
correct the condition prior to reauthorizing:
    More than one Network Adapter
RAS (dialup) service enabled as either a RAS Server or RAS Client
Any other application or service that emulates a network connection
    Server is a DHCP client
Any of the above will cause dynamic changing of the server's network
properties, thus causing dynamic failure of AdLM. Again, if any of the
above are true, that must be resolved prior to attempting to reauthorize or
this will be a continuing problem.
