I have a problem with the "certified" NVIDIA Quadro FX 1400 Driver Version 6.14.12.6705 (2/10/2011) when trying to lauch AutoCAD Electrical 2012 for First Initialization.
The problem is this:
Launch > Splash Screen > First Initialization > when AcVmTools.arx trys to initialize > System Hangs (Freezes).
Then the only solution is to press the power button on the tower to restart windows.
System Data:
Work Around 1:
Remove/Rename AcVmTools.arx & AcVmToolsRes.dll. (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2012)
This approach allows ACADE 2012 to Start and open, but ViewCube, Navigation Bar and Steering Wheel (minimum) do not function.
Work Around 2: (Solution I am currently using)
AcVmTools.arx & AcVmToolsRes.dll files in place and named correctly.
Roll back NVIDIA Driver to previous version.
Currently using version 6.14.12.5912.
Software appears to be responding correctly with Work around 2 applied. Have noted some other program issues, but will post in approriate discussion groups.
Thanks for looking into this question about Video Certification problem.

See if you have the same problem with the newly released .6779 driver. It is WHQL Certified:

Thanks. I'll try it and get back with you in a bit.
Travis,
Thanks for the new driver notice.
I had worked all day yesterday troubleshooting this problem, but it must have been prior to the release of this driver update, since it appears that it was released yesterday as well.
Seems to have fixed my problem.

Excellent! Glad you are up and running. My guess is even though it said it was released yesterday, it probably didn't hit the download until early this morning.
