3ds Max Install failed - Visual C++ SP1 Redistributable (x64) Failed
I need help installing 3ds Max 2012.
My computer is running Windows7 Home Premium (x64) as the OS and the logfile shows it fails the install as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x64) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603
I've not found much help from the Microsoft site (yet) to get help there with getting their SP1 working...so perhaps someone here knows the work-around for this possibly common install error.
You can try to install the VC++ manually from installation media: \3rdParty\x64\VCRedist\2008SP1. Be sure login as admin user and turn off UAC, anti-virus and firewall.
