3ds Max Design 2012 problem

I have successfully installed 3ds max design 2012 on my computer, but when I open it I cannot see the viewports or anything else [see 'open.png']. However, when I make a torus or any other object, although I cannot see it being made, but when I render the scne, it becomes visible [see 'render.png']. I have clicked on the 'reset' button numerous times, but of no use. Here are the settings of the view meny [see 'view.png']. Anybody please help.

this is mostly likely a hardware issue not a 3ds max issue

3ds max is a graphics card intensive program

i would start looking there

My graphics card is of ATI Radeon XPress 200 series. It has DirectDraw and Diect3d acceleration enabled. Can anybody please tell me whether it is compatible with this 3ds Max Design 2012 or not?
