Hi,
We have bought some standalone 3ds Max Design 2012 versions.
I'm having an issue using & activating the software from behind a proxy (transparant, using a "wpad.dat" file).
I would like to activate 3ds Max 2012 through the proxy, in stead of configuring a direct access to the autodesk website.
The issues :
- Activaion Wizard : no internet connection detected.
- Autodesk 3dx Max Design Help : Messagebox saying that there is no internet connection, a link to the webpage containing the online help.
In both cases, the software tries to connect to the internet directly, it does not even attempt to use the proxy:
When running a "netstat -a", I have this :
TCP <COMPUTERNAME>:1381 67.202.218.145:http SYN_SENT
My internet options are configured with "Automatically detect settings". That way, the system automatically detects the location of the WPAD.Dat proxy configuration file using a DNS record. Some software does not handle that quite well, for those case we manually feed them the proxy server to use in the settings of the application. But 3ds Max Design 2012 does not seem to have such an option (?)
Even when entering the proxy server directly into the computer's "Internet options", 3dx Max Design 2012 is not able to connect to the autodesk website.
When launching IE on the same machine, I can perfectly navigate to autodesk.com.

Maybe a fix for 2012 is required as well?
