2012 Install order

I have a friend that had installed Inventor Pro of their system as a stand alone.

Last week she bought a external HD and installed Vault Server on it.

Since then she's been unable to get things to work right.

I'm thinking she needed to have Vault Server installed first, then install Inventor and Vault Client on her workstation.

I'm thinking this is the case due to things like Content Center was installed on her workstation as opposed to the Server as she would prefer. Am I correct in thinking this is the proper order?

in inventor you can change whether inventor is using desktop content or vault server content

by going to tools>application options>content center tab and changing it there
