2010 License Transfer Problem - Port 80?

Hi,

I'm trying to import a registered license file which I've exported from my PC onto Autodesk's license transfer server onto a pc which is behind a corporate firewall & am having zero luck..

I have the same issue when trying to register the 2nd PC also

I have internet access fine & even thou I've raised this with Autodesk in the past, they won't accept the fact that some firewall settings won't allow the registration wizard or license transfer wizard through.

Now from what I've been told from Autodesk, the wizard's all use port 80 & this is open on the network, but the wizard comes back with the following:
"No internet connection was detected. To Transfer a license, connect to the internet now."

So, here I am with a live internet connection, writing this post and with the comments from Autodesk that the license registration & transfer wizards use port 80, but I'm still unable to activate or transfer a license.

Does anyone have any idea what I can try on my end to try and import my license.

It used to be great when I could simply stick the license on a USB stick and go from PC to PC with no worries. Now the system is a real pain for folks like me who are behind a corporate firewall or those who are mobile and do not have connections to the web.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Devon

The registration and license transfer transactions go through the port 443
(SSL), not 80. Also make sure you don't have your Internet Explorer in the
"Off-line mode".

Thanks, now I need to convince IT to open port 443.

I would be surprised if port 443 is blocked as SSL and HTTPS use this port for secure connections.

I had this problem on Windows 7. I run ISA server and have IE setup to use a proxy server. After temporarily turning off use a proxy server on the internet options\connections\lan settings it all worked fine. My desktop and the ISA server were not blocking port 443.

Hi !
Autodesk recently released a patch about this problem ("Register Today Proxy Licensing Hotfix")
See "Update and Service pack" on Autodesk Web site

Best regards
