Experienced the same error myself, but after head banging the desk a few
times, it finally completed. The deployment appears to work fine on the
workstation, just hope something else isn't out of the ordinary.
On another note, has anyone attempted to modify a deployment after initial
creation? There doesn't appear to be a deployment wizard any longer so
making changes after the fact seems to be hidden somewhere!

When setting up a network deployment for AutoCAD 2008, I get the following
error periodically:
Access is denied.
(\\servername\sharename\adsk2008deploy\acad\adminimage\....)
This popped up about 7 or 8 times. The file shown varied from autorun.inf
to addynhelp.ocx to another ocx file.
I clicked "Ignore" each time, and the deployment continued normally. Not
sure yet if AutoCAD installed correctly on the workstation.
Thanks,
