My laptop has no graphics card. What can I do?

I'm new to 3D animation, and I'm just now learning my laptop needs a graphic card in order to render/playblast on Maya.

 

Can I buy an external graphics card, like what's listed at this link <http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&field-keywords=OpenGL%20Graphics%20gard&index=blended>, or is my only option to buy a whole new laptop?

Check your laptop first.  Many are not designed to have components like video cards or extra RAM added.  Thats one of the prices paid for portability.
