Maya installation failure?

I'm a college student.

I've tried to install this upwards of twenty or thirty times.

I've tried installing the 2015 and the 2014 versions (2014 is what we use in class, and was advised to download the 2015 version).

It comes up with "Installation Finished" or some such, and everything that was selected to be installed has a red X next to it. Go into the log files, and the last line says "Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable ATL Security Update (x86) Failed Download Failed, Installation aborted, Result=1603."

What does this mean?

And how do I fix it and make it do the thing?

Currently attempting to download it now, and it's making the mightiest effort of all, so far. 

Fingers crossed, but only one egg is in the basket. Hopes are not high, at this point.

Edit: My last attempt was successful. The 2015 version didn't work, regradless of how many times I attempted to redownload it. The 2014 version failed the first time, but the second attempt was successful. If you're having issues getting the 2015 version to download, regardless of how many times you've tried, try to install the 2014 version. If it fails, keep trying. The second attempt at the 2014 version was a success for me, and I hope my confused, frustrated little blurb has helped someone else.
