Maya doesn't work correctly in my system

Hi!
When i open a model in Maya x64,I can't turn around it smoothly.
I have a laptop with 6 GB RAM,2 GB Nvidia Geforce graphic card,a Core i7 CPU and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Smoothly?

Do you mean it lags when turning?

Is it

1. Graphical lag (Where its slow and the frame rate is under 30)

2. UI Lag where it trys and catches up with the UI whens selected (Only if attribute editor or channel box is open)

3. or The lag where your trying to rotate and it stops for a second or to every few times you rotate

Or does the model have a ultra poly count
