tried shutting off avast. Fresh install. still fails on the plugin I don't care about. Never has it been this difficult to give someone money before.
Shut off Avast and Windows Firewall. Then start the whole download process and install process. You can reenable Avast and Firewall when it is done. When you now open Maya 2015 and start working with the bifröst plug-in avast will tell you that its a virus. tell avast that its a false positive and that you know what you're doing and don't let the file be hidden away and you should be good to go. worked for me. Hope it helps.
Couldnt work it out, then I checked my Avast Chest and there it was.
The DLL File the instal couldnt find.
Just Restore the file and press Retry or if u wana start again
Restart the pc
Run install as Administrator or use the Autodesk Installer.
If you get the missing file prob again dont cancel just goto Avast chest and restore the fros file (.dll) and press retry!

Go to your Avast quarantine virus chest on the Scan tab - at the bottom in blue - click, right click the file and hit restore - to the right location - or extract - again to the location it should be. I had to delete the BIN version before it would accept the .DLL file...which is what it should be.
how, i don;t have avast but i got avast setup only. and i only got avira antivirus. and the autodesk maya 2015 still can't work , it only got autodesk aplication manager only.
Tried the other solutions, of turning Avast off, etc., and didn't work.
Checked the Virus chest, restored, and boila!
Thanks!

1. Disable Avast
2. Open Avast
3. Go to Scan
4. In the bottom, look for "Quarantine (Virus Chest)"
5. See the 93497458... file, right click, "restore and add to exclusions"

Juan, and everybody else...
The trick is to turn Avast off before running the install package.
When the package runs Avast quarantines the one file you need to complete the installation.
Thus you either run after halting Avast.
Or
Halting Avast then re-running the installation package.
Or, as you did
Going to the Virus Chest for the innocent file to complete the installation.
For everyone still scratching their heads the install package has two steps:-
1. Extracts all installation files to a temporary area C:\ usually.
2. Carries out the installation.
Avast interrupts the first step and snatches the one innocent file away. So you either recover that file or halt Avast.
Once installation is complete Avast can be restarted.
hello guys,
I downloaded the student version as direct downoad from google Chrome. It's a 1.8 GB exe file. Opened it with autodesk download manager and says that it consiste multiple files...
Tried everything you said, still got the problem. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
Thank you.
Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!
You might need to try a different download method. Please disable your firewall and anti-virus programs, and re-download the software from our Virtual Agent (click on Download Links, choose product and version). Let us know if it works!
