If I were you I'd check to see if there are any driver updates for your graphics card.

Could you try this?

1.exit maya

2.delete or rename maya user setting folder

Windows
(Windows XP)
\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\2012

(Windows XP 64bit)
\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\maya\2012-x64

(Windows 7)
\Users\<username>\Documents\maya\2012

(Windows 7 64bit)
\Users\<username>\Documents\maya\2012-x64

Mac OS X
/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/2012
:
Select Finder > Go > Go to Folder and type the directory path (/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences).
From the Terminal window, navigate to the Preferences directory and type open.

Linux (64-bit)
~<username>/maya/2012-x64

3.lunch maya, and select create default setting.

Dear Tony,

Is this something that's occurred due to a recent OSX update?

I'm having the same problem here with Maya 2011.

Ran it for years without issue, but it is now crashing on startup.

I have tried renaming the "prefs" folder in ../Autodesk/Maya/2011-x64/ but it still crashes. It does not get to an option to "Create default setting".

Any ideas or specific things to try?

Thanks,
Mike

o,I see.

When Maya 2011,2012,2013 or 2014 released, Mac OS 10. 9 didn't release yet. So in Maya system requirements list, there isn't Mac OS 10.9. And we couldn't test on Mac OS 10.9 at that time.

We don't know if there is any issue on Mac OS 10.9.

Hi,

Tony,
Is there any possibility of this bug getting a hotfix?

Abdallahb,
Could you explain how you rolled back to 10.8x please? Unless it was via Time Machine?

Thanks,
Mike

Hey guys, I am having a similar issue with 2014 on my Mac OSX Mavericks. It ran fine for a couple weeks then randomly started crashing, and now it will not even run. I get the command window and a "Stack Trace" error window. Very strange.

Tony is there any way to get some actual help? I have a new HP zbook with a quadro and I just upgraded to win 8.1 JUST to see if Maya would run and it has the same issue of strating up and then the second I try and move the camera or create a shape the program freezes. I am trying to run Maya 2014 educational any Ideas is there any where to get more directed help than hoping someone gets back to you on the forums?
