I am currently learning Maya on the 2010 version at school. I have a new macbook pro, 8 gig ram, and I installed Maya 2010 on it so I could work on school projects at home. I am getting slow lagging whenever I create a new object or do anything really. I get the beach ball for a few seconds no matter what I am doing. A classmate installed 2010 Maya on his MacBook Pro and it works fine. His is a year old while mine is new. Is it because my system is 64 bit? Is my copy of Maya corrupted? Any ideas? I can run Maya 2012 ok without the lag.
