MaxStartUI.mnu is invalid!.... What?

Hi,

I had my copy of 3ds Max Design up and running fine for a couple of weeks then out of nowhere one day it displayed this message:

Invalid File
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\2009 - 64bit\enu\UI\MaxStartUI.mnu is invalid!

What does this mean & what should I do?

I have no idea what this is about and have attempted a reinstall but there is no simple option to do this so rather than potential doing more damage I thought I'd ask for help.

I left this problem unattended for a few weeks because I have been busy with deadlines & had access to other copies through my institutions system. I would greatly like to get my personal copy up and running again though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marcus

ps I have attached a screenshot of the error...

I read in another forum to delete the file solves this problem. Max is creating a new one.

Read the first post - the full path to the file is in there.
Depending on your OS and Max version yours may be slightly different.

Ive deleted the file and it owrked but I also work with another program called RealFlow and it seems like since these two applications work together with importing/exporting meshes, it seems like it keeps corrupting it.

Set the Windows Search to include hidden files and folders. It's in the Advanced options (on XP anyway).

The file is in a Hidden folder. Set the search and/or Explorer to "show hidden files and folders".

And please refrain from posting the same question multiple times within the same thread - once is sufficient.
