License error installing Maya...

Hi, I just downloaded and installed Maya 2014 and when I boot up Maya I get this error:

License was not obtained

Tried Maya 2014 (657F1 2014.0.0.F), error 20

License method:

environment variable MAYA_LICENSE_METHOD='standalone'

Product choice:

environment variable MAYA_LICENSE='unlimited'

License file override:

environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set

I had this same issue with Maya 2012.

I am a student and I downloaded it from the student section, for the free 3 year license HERE 

Why am I having trouble with this, other students I know have installed it on thier computer no problem. I am using a Mac Book Pro 15" (2009), MAC OS X 10.6.8, with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and 4GB of RAM, so I think my tech specs are adequete.

Oh the dreaded "error 20". Search for it in the Installation Forum here:

I am also experincing this issue with 2014 install. Same messages. I have a subscription for 16 desks and have followed all the help and guides. Is this a common complaint?

Usually killing this folder does the trick:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdLM\
