After getting this error i guessed may be somethings are installed already that’s why i am getting this error, now i manually deleted all the folders related to Maya, still it wont let me install

I am using windows 7, and the product i was checking is

Have you tried going into Control Panel and uninstalling Maya that way? I believe the unistallation process breaks connections and makes changes that manually deleting does not.

Have you also tried checking your recycle bin folder? Depending on how your preferences are configureed, files and folders you delete are first moved there, from where you can either restore or perminantly delete them.

I know there is a way to recover deleted files and folders that have been 'perminantly deleted', but can't remember how atm
Zbrush 4R5, Max 2012 (might switch to Maya soon)

Hi shariyar,

Man, i have the SAME, exactly the same issue. I am not able to install MAYA 2012 and i get the same error. I tried and checked every solution possible. I turned off User account control(UAC). made sure that i am the ADMIN. even uninstalled .NET framework 4 and reinstalled it. Deleted the old registry accounts of previous autodesk installation but i am so frustrated and exhausted now. I just cant install MAYA and it gets disrupted at the same point and i get same errors as yours.

if you could find solution to your problem then please throw some light. I will be really obliged. I am waiting for your reply.please do answer.

thanks.

best regards,

I'm seeing that the last reply to this post was on 08-27-2011 01:57 AM.

That was 3 years ago.

Why has no one from Autodesk responded to this?

I'm having the same issue now where I manually deleted Maya 2013 from my PC and also manaully deleted the Autodesk entries in the registy in an attemtp to try to find a way to install 3ds Max 2013, but still I'm getting nothing but frustration and no answers.

As a result, 3ds Max is still not installed and I am unable to re-install Maya 2013 because when I run the Maya installer, it says that it's already installed, but it's not.

This frustration is unnecessary and the people at Autodesk need to take this into account when de-bugging and developing their software.

If users are going to have this much frustration with software, do not make the software available to users until issues like these are tested and resolved.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Uninstall Tool\R1\

put this into google url box and download the three files then run uninstaller. i had same problem and figured it out. when its finished, try installing maya again. if still all hope is lost personally i would delete all signs of maya or autodesk in the registry. good luck

Run the repair tool it worked for me.
Its located in
"The place you extracted the installation files"/x64 or x86/Maya/Maya.msi
This may differ mine version is 2017.
Its should locate in somewhere like that
