We are not totally happy with the current backup application we have for our Mac network. Our studio project data is stored on a remotely mounted RAID from each animation workstation. Each night a backup of the various project directories is copied over to another RAID... a weekly is also done each weekend.
The issue we have is that if cache files or rendered image files are stored in the project directory (which sometimes is needed for network rendering and special mel scripts, etc.), the backup can get way too large. We don't desire to backup the cache and image directories in our pipeline.
Currently using CCC which is a GUI for rsync as our backup tool. The issue is we need to constantly, manually edit the checkboxed "need backed up" items every time someone creates a new directory, especially those that we don't want backed up. We need a tool that allows for a basic wildcard approach to listing directories desired to be backed up.
Short of writing something internal, was hoping someone knows of another more GUI based tool for Mac networks.
