3d Max 2013 application menu won't open

I need to export my model as either an .obj or .stl file. But my application menu won't open. No matter how many times I reinstall 3d max 2013, the problem remains.

Is there any way I can fix this? or, is there another way of exporting models? Like a keyboard shortcut or something like that.

Can you access Customise > Customise User Interface ?
There are no shortcuts defined, but if you can access the above dialog you can set some yourself.
On the Keyboard tab, change the Category drop-down to File, the 2 you may want are "Export File" and maybe "Export Selected". They are the AppMenu > Export > Export (and Export Selected) options.

If reinstalling doesn't fix a problem, you probably need to remove your user settings - what OS are you using? (the paths are different between XP and W7/8).

Thank you so much! I managed to assign a hotkey.

I'm using windows 7 64-bit.

For future reference then:-
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\[version]\ENU
Note that AppData is a hidden folder, so set Explorer to Show Hidden Files and Folders
Rename that folder and when you relaunch Max it will create new, clean configuration files. You'll lose a lot of customisations though.

I'll keep that in mind. Thank again.
