Hi:

it to mapeGuide2007 so i am using the mapGuide studio to create my maps but
i am facing a problem with the data resource created from FDO sql server
provider as when ever i am trying to make a layer with this resource i
always recieve the message "you are about to change to an incompatible data
resource proceed and reset to defaults" I acnn't configure out what is wrong
please help??
All what i am trying to do is to make a point layer from a sql server data
base table?????

Thanks in advance

Am I correct in assuming that you are changing/editing the data resource on
an existing layer when the error message appears?
If so, there are two solutions. 1) ignore the error and continue or 2)
create new layer and point to your data resource.

The purpose of this error message is to warn you that by changing the data
resource you may invalidate existing layer properties that have been set up
(e.g. linestyles, colours, fill patterns, symbols, etc.) and that work will
be lost. The obvious case where this can happen is if, say, a polygon layer
has been created but the new/changed data resource contains only points.
None of the stylization for polygons is valid, anymore.

Hi Chris

Thanks for your reply but Actually i am creating a new layer not an
exisisting one so when i point to my data source and select the rquired
table i get this message and when i ignore the message and complete i have
the geometry text box empty as well as all other option are dimed and the
style pannel is empty and nothing appears on my map.??????????Do have any
idea why does this happen although i have the same database table working
fine with a point layer in mapguide6.5

Thanks,
Nermeen

Hi all,

i have the same issue???

I have a spatial enabled table with sdo_geometry of type point (2001), when i try to configure a layer using the Autodesk FDO for Oracle in that table the error occurs! Why? Don't know!

I also have other tables with geometry type point alike, in those nothing happens, i can see in the map the geometries.

I use Oracle 10gR2, MGES 2008 and Studio 2008.

Any solutions?
