User defined symbology and DAT

Hello All,

Sorry for the cross post with the mapguide.general group. I ment to post
here and got the wrong one initially.

I was wondering if anybody has a working application where the users and
change the size and/or color of their point layers? If so, could you help
me understand the logic of how the app is set up?

Background: We've got a client that has been using our MapGuide 6.5
application for utility management for the past few years. They keep
finding new ways to use the application (a good thing), but now we are
constantly bombarded with requests to tweak the symbology for one reason or
another. I would very much like to give them the power to tweak their own
symbology.

We've been studying up on the Dynamic Authoring Toolkit, but so far the
light has yet to go on for how we could make this work. Is it something
that we could integrate into our existing application, or is something
better designed from the ground up?

I'd appreciate any pointers,
