Installation of MGE 2008 over 2007

I have a question from a colleague who handles the server end of MapGuide for me. We are already running 2007, and have just received 2008. Will 2008 install over 2007 without affecting data or settings? I guess that question applies to both the server and Studio.
Also, I've struggled in vain to find some kind of "What's New in 2008" overview. I'd like to see a comparison so I know what to expect. From the documents I've seen its as if 2007 never existed...

The two server products should be able to live side by side. Studio 2007 and 2008 cannot reside on the same machine.

I believe a What's New document is in the works.

I don't think there is any such thing as an upgrade install. The 2008
install is seperate from 2007 and you would have to package and migrate
settings and data manually. MGE 2008 and 2007 can coexist. MapGuide Studio
2008 and 2007 cannot coexist so 2007 has to be unistalled. Note that
MapGuide Studio 2008 seems to be able to connect to MGE 2007.

A couple of new features that I know of:
-unmanaged resources: connect to file based data in any location
-mousewheel zoom with AJAX viewer
