IP address vs DNS name Problem

We have created popup menu option action (open url) that will call an htm
page:
The above works fine when the IP address is used in the address bar of the
browser, but when the dns name is used we get a permission denied error.
We also have features that have the url property set for them and double
clicking on them works no matter what is in the address bar (IP or DNS
name).

The mapguide service is running under the system account.

We are using NT 4/IIS and Mapguide version 5.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

HI Sean when you use DNS name instead of IP did you assign the dns name to
that IP This is not mapguide issue indeed it is more on how you assign the
ip with the dns. You can ask your system admin to confirm that DNS you have
point to the correct IP, unless you access from intranet the name may not
assign to the same IP

The site displays fine when you use the DNS name enter. It just the popup
menu call to an htm page that is causing an error.

So, I do not think it is a DNS setup issue. If it was than the site would
not display at all.

thanks.
