The easiest way to modify the style of the fusion template is to use a tool like Firebug or <insert developer tools of your web browser> to inspect the CSS of the element(s) in question that you want to modify. This will tell you 2 things:
1. The CSS rules being used and their respective style settings (color, font, etc, etc)
2. The stylesheet(s) where these rules are defined.
Then it's a case of editing the affected CSS stylesheets to produce the look that you are after.
