Extending data store extents SQL 2008

When I created my database I set the Data Store Extents to an area Sufficient for my project, but the project has changed and I need to extend the area of the data store. Is there a way to change the Extents or does it matter if I’m outside of my data store extents. Thanks

Data store extents in SQL Server 2008 mainly affects the spatial indexes that gets created for geometry columns.

Is this a database with FDO metadata tables (they start with f_ ) or is it just a regular one?

If it's a regular database, just modify the bounds of the spatial index on that geometry column in question, otherwise if it has FDO metadata tables, you may have to also change the bounds in one of the f_ tables (it'd be the one relating to spatial contexts)
