Using the API, I'm trying to figure out how to automatically select a polygon, that contains a user selected polygon. An example would be to find the zoning of a selected parcel by knowing which zoning polygon the parcel falls in (overlay analysis). The only way I can seem to make this kind of work using the API is to iterate through several thousand zoning polygons until I find the one the parcel falls "within". Is there a way do this without cycling through every zoning polygon? Yea, I know, just turn the zoning layer on. But that's not the point.
