Automatic Query and Filter of any Layer

There is now an online demo of IME's Generic MapGuide Query Filter.

http://www.ime-gis.co.uk/demos/sqlquery/

This collection of scripts allows you to automatically filter any map layer
and report on them without having to write a single line of code.

It will apply to any layer which has an associated database (unless you deny
access to the layer set up from within the MWF).

As you add more layers in future it will automatically pick them up and
handle them in the same way.

You can download the archive (including full instructions) from here :
http://www.ime-gis.co.uk/support/download/gmqf.zip

The best thing is, the encrypted version is free to use and distribute. If
you wany the open source version give us a call.

Regards
Alan Douglas

Re: SDF files on a remote computer

Pavel,

run the MapGuide Server service as user account (control panel >
services >
MapGuide Server 6.0 > Startup) and enter a user that is also
known on the
machine where the SDF files are stored.

I note this requires OLE BD datasets to be registered by Cold Fusion. Does this mean we cannot use MSAccess datasets
which are currently using ODBC?

Gavan,

ColdFusion can easily be set-up to use OLE DB
connections to Access.

From the CF admin pages there are links to both
ODBC (you don't have to go through the Windows control panel) and OLE DB
connection set-ups.

There are two things to remember;

 1) CF does not by default set the OLE DB
driver to Jet 4, if you have the latest jet drivers / Win 2k change the
"Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51" to "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0"

 2) You must manually set "Admin" as the
username (no password) when connecting to a default Access
database

We strongly recommend OLE DB over
ODBC.

 Regards,

  Crispin
