I am finding trees to be a major limiting factor in models we are doing.
I love the built in ones though.
Is there a tweak we could do to lighten those up, in terms of speed?
I am thinking we resmaple the leaf textures, or something.
I need ideas on this as I am not a 3d model expert.
you need to reduce the polygons.
turn trunks into pentagonal prisims (5faces) or even triangular prisims (3faces)
turn canopy into 5-10 randomly roatated planes
total faces (15)
this will give a the trees a "lollipop" appearance to some extent but not really at high angles and large scales
