Sketchup and Ambient Occlusion

While I'm asking questions, does anyone else have problems with ambient occlusion and external 3D models. In this case Sketchup model, also attempted converted to .dae

Move the .dae file from the models folder to the images folder.

huh?

do you mean in the .dae source folder? I don't have any textures applied to the model, so there isn't one.

Um, trying to work out what you mean, would you mind breaking it down a bit for me? Cheers.

If there are no textures, what is the issue with the ambient occlusion?

Do you have show backfaces on? You can toggle this on in the options.

Well I've 'solved' the problem. Changed Ambient Occlusion Quality to Low and it resolved itself.

Hi,
I have the same problem with faces in High ambient occlusion. Problem even exist in Fremont model from Autodesk when I turn on High Ambient Occlusion. It will be great if someone have idea how to solve this problem, or it is a bug in software, since that problem persist from version 2014. Otherwise, I don't see need for High AO as option., since it is unusable for now.

Hi there,

could it be that the model has faces which are doubled and close to each other so that AO volumes get "confused" when choosing one or the other face?
