Creating an overpass

I am having trouble creating an overpass over a railroad.

Tried using the stacked order, did put my road over the rail but in a really weird way.

There are some photos attached for visual understanding.

Any suggestions?

If the road goes over the rail road, click on it, right-click and split it on both sides of the railroad.  Then drag and drop a bridge style on the piece of road going over the tracks.  You can then alter it with the grips.

I've done it once, but for some reason can't figure it out again...

how would I split it?

I tried right clicking in edit mode, and no option for split came up. I tried it outside of edit mode and still nothing?

Unfortunately, if you use a "design" road, then the split feature is not available.  This is a BIG complaint with 2014.
