Control of zoom and pan with mouse wheel

Hopefully an easy one.....when I'm at a distance from the model the pan (right mouse)  and zoom (mouse wheel) allows me much movement but the closer I zoom in the slower the zoom and pan until it is barely perceptible. I can then go to Home view via the view cube and the zoom / pan is very sensitive again.

Is this just a graphics glitch or is there a setting somewhere to control the pan/zoom?

this might be a graphics glitch

you can try adjusting the 3d graphics in the options menu

try lowering the display detail

I think that is just how it works. I have gotten used to setting the zoom to set the camera speed, then using the keyboard commands to move around.
