parametric workflow lost on import

Hi everyone,

I really love how Fusion 360 is coming along and what is possible with it. However I have one problem with the parametric workflow:

If I start a new 360 design, everything works as expected, and the bottom-lower bar indicates that I am in parametric mode. However, if I start out with an imported dxf file, Fusion 360 loses the parametric mode. The same happens if I start out importing step or iges files.

Is there any way to import a dxf from Autocad and retain the parametric workflow?

Best regards

Johann

Right click on the top node of the browser and pick Capture Design History.

Let me know if this helps.

When you open the imported design. Right mouse click on the top browser node and turn on timeline. The direct design will convert to timeline and you will be all set.

Thank you very very much, that did the trick - works perfectly.

Thanks again for the quick and helpful response.
