Synch parts with assemblies

Is there a way to synchronize assemblies and parts so that if you make a change to a part it updates in the assembly or vice versa?

This functionality is not currently available. Each design is self contained with no external references. It is possible to Insert one design into another; however, this is a copy of with no link link to the original. Subsequent updates will not be reflected once the copy has been made.
