Sketch geometry is over constrained

Here is a new failure mode I haven't come across before, and stopped my project in its tracks.

Drawing as simple sketch getting ready to extrude into 3d.

Adding just a new 2 point rectangle.

Entering 10 and 2 mm's as the constraints, everything looks good.

OverConstrained1.PNG

Then I press enter a couple of times to complete, and instead of a rectangle I get an error message as per

OverConstrained2.PNG

Maybe I am missing the obvious, but shorly there should not be a problem with adding a rectangle...

Note that using a mouse click rather than return to commit the new rectangle worked fine, so at least I am working on.

Thanks

Hi big_red_frog,

Thanks for reporting this issue.

It’s a problem that the development is looking into. And glad to know you have found a workaround. Hope we can improve this in future updates.

Recently, another user reports the similar case and you may want to check it for more information:

I had the same issue several times but didn't note that clicking the mouse could solve it. Will try it the next time it happens. Was driving me nuts already.

Hum after many others tries, it finally worked when i clicked with the mouse, but i can't find the correct process yet. Sometime i click left button and it doesn't work, sometimes it works... Robot LOL

it should always work with the mouse button (at least it did for me so far) but the problem persists while pressing the enter key after entering some values.

So you "fix" the value (with the locker) also with the left click ?

i use the tab key to jump from value to value and finalize with a left click instead of an hint on "enter" (which would bring up the error).

Thanks, it works perfectly like this! The problem is just not to move the mouse while pressing the left click...

yeah it's not more than an ugly workaround - i hope this bug will be fixed sometime soon. i already wondered why they couldn't fix it for the may update.

Hi all,

I just want to give a update that this issue has been solved in the latest update (June release build 2.0.1183). It works for either mouse click or Enter key.

Thanks,

Hi peaboy,

Sorry to hear that you still experience similar problem. I double checked the original steps in build 2.0.1300, but not able to reproduce the error.

Did you see the problem in the same steps or is it a different scenario which leads to the warning? Could you add more details (file, screenshot & video, etc.) here so we can reproduce it? If it's a different scenario, it's recommended to report it in a new post for easy trakcing and searching.

You may use the Autodesk tool screencast for video recording: https://screencast.autodesk.com/

Thanks!
