How to resolve slow scene loading with high resolution textures

My current project requires a hirth gear. They are intended to mesh horizontally to lock in with another piece so that when a bolt is tightened it doesn't slip

But I have no idea how to make the 'teeth' on top since they are sloped backwards and tinier.

I've included a picture of thingaverse that is the wrong size and .stl.

any help would be most appreciated.
