HOW-TO: Export your Beta Designs

Some services will become unavailable

Services like translation (Import and Export of other file formats) will no longer be available after June 7th, 2013 as we prepare Fusion 360 to go live. You will still be able to log in and use the software until September 1st, but you won’t be able to import or export non-f3d file formats.

Export you designs

Transitioning to the product release will impact your currently saved designs. Your files will not be automatically migrated to the new platform with the official product release. If you want to keep your designs created on the Beta platform, you will need to export them to your computer.

When do I need to do this?

Fusion 360 will completely replace the Beta platform - they will not run side by side. And so we strongly encourage you to back up (export) your design data (steps below) before installing the first official Fusion 360 release. You will no longer be able to access your beta designs after September 1st, 2013, so be sure to back up your projects by then.

Saving your Fusion 360 designs

You can choose to export your designs either by Project or by individual Design. Watch the video, or follow the step-by-step instructions below to save your designs.

Video instructions:

That’s it!

Keep your designs on your computer – Fusion 360 is almost here, and we'll have more details on how to import them into the new platform soon. Let us know if you have any comments or questions regarding this process. We’re here to help!

Thanks so much for being with us from the beginning!
