    PRINTER COMPATIBILITY

Afer three years of no problems AutoCAD suddenly takes forever to send a file to my printer, an HP 1220Cxi. It seems the problem is that the HP driver for the 1220C does not support bidirectional communication on the WinXP operating system. It may be that a recent service pack for XP caused the change.

I have spent a ton of my time and the time of the folks at Dell, my machine is a Dell 380, and they can't solve the problem. If you do a search on the subject you will find lots of confirmation about 1220c bidirectional drivers not working on XP.

Two questions, does anyone know of a fix for the problem: one person said that HP 950 drivers have bidirectional capability and work with the 1220c?

Second question, what other wide carriage, i.e., 11 inch wide paper printers, are there that are supported by AutoCAD 2008?

    Thanks very much.
