We use Heidi drivers with an HP DesignJet 500 and all works well. My problem is that we do a lot of printing to an HP DeskJet 9600 series which is an LPT1 printer and no matter what I do they will not print in ALL BLACK. I check the 'print in greyscale using black cartridge only', and it still prints in black and grayscale. We print a lot of graphics from Land Desktop 2004....or at least we need to but I cannot get the gray out. I don't know what to do. I have talked to HP until I am blue in the face and cannot seem to get them to understand that I am doing what I am supposed to do, but it simply WILL NOT print in all black. Any solutions that you are aware of?

Have you tried using Plot Styles inside of LDDT. You can create a color dependant plot style for use with your drawings that will replace all the colors in your drawings with another color, in your case you would use all black. I don't work on LDDT but I believe it is the same as vanilla AutoCAD. If you go to the File menu and select Plot Style Manager, this will bring up a browser to select an existing plot style definition file or you can use the wizard to create a new one. You should already find a standard .ctb file called monochrome.ctb. If you double click that file, you will bring up the plot style table dialog. In there you will see that all your object colors have an over-ride to use black as the plot color. When you plot your drawings, specify this plot style in the Plot style table dropdown. Look on the installation cd that can with whatever flavor of acad you are using.
