Anybody know of a Heidi driver that will run an HP Deskjet 2500Cxi? Perhaps
one of the Designjet drivers? Deskjet printers are not listed as supported
in AutoCAD Help under HDI drivers.
The driver supplied by HP with the printer will NOT print high-quality
raster images (USGS topo maps) -- I get about 32 dots/inch instead of what
the maps were scanned at (200-300+ dpi?). When these .dwg files are plotted
on a plotter that does have Heidi drivers, I get high quality images.

John,
I have forwarded your message to the autodesk.autocad.print-plot news group.

Richard --
I have been running a similar message on the print-plot newsgroup (see
which) and have been in touch with tech support via the "safety net". The
bottom line is: there is nothing already out there; that I would have to
try -- driver by driver -- to see if anything might work.
My problem got boosted up to R&D at Autodesk to see if they will write a
driver (if they decide "yes", they might have it done by summer).
I spent a chunk of time on the phone today w/ HP and looked at my choices in
other printers. The boss decided to cough up more money and buy a DesignJet
ColorPro CAD (have a demo arranged for tomorrow) so that we can get rolling
with our work and not put time into messing with all this.
The other task is finding a buyer for the 2500Cxi; or somehow trading it in,
or getting our money back, when we buy the ColorPro CAD.
Thanks for your support.
