I am so confused I am about to throw in the towel!! I am using Win2000 os
and running Land Desktop 2004 w/Civil and Survey modules. We are using a
large format plotter, HP Designjet 500. I have asked EVERYONE and no one
seems to have an answer or even bother with answering at all. I have not
been able to find out if there is a switch somewhere...like on the
plotter....that must be set so the plotter is forced to use 'Software'
instructions like our old hp did. Also, I have the updated hp drivers which
is the corrected version 5.35 allowing the plotter to plot in grayscale and
black and am under the impression that Heidi drivers are included in this
executable file, pl243en.exe. I have loaded these drivers. I have a .ctb
file that plots our drawings by color for their lineweights and styles. I
have marked pen #9 and 254 for my grayscale use and checked the boxes to use
grayscale in the plot style file. In the meantime, I downloaded the 'Heidi
Development Kit' which I have done nothing with as yet. Here is the
problem.
No matter what I have tried.....including using AutoCAD's grayscale.ctb
file....I have been unable to plot in grayscale. Is there anyone out there
that even remotely has a clue as to which way I can go? If I ask HP, they
send me to AutoDesk. If I ask AutoDesk, they send me to HP. Go figure?
Does anyone really know enough out there that they can help me without me
having to have a brain implant so that I can figure out what is going on and
what it is going to take to plot drawings without GOING BACK TO DOING THEM
BY HAND. I have wasted FAR FAR too much office time trying to figure this
out. I purely HATE new software anymore!!
Thanks

No suggestion, other than trying a post in the print-plot group. Suggest you
clarify if the only change is the plotter, i.e. could get what you wanted
from LDT 2004, Win2000, grayscale.ctb and your old HP plotter.
Heidi development kit is no use to you - it is for writing your own graphics
programs.
