nvidia GeForce 3 - where'd they go?

I've been looking around at various vendors, trying to put a desktop
together for myself. I've noticed that video card options are generally:
ATI Radeon
nvidia GF4
nvidia GF2

What happened to the GF3? I have one in my current (non-operable) system at
home. Is it not advisable to try and get more life out of it in the next
system? I'm just worried that I missed some major gaffe on nvidia's part
that has led to the decline in popularity of this card.

So, they're just not as cheap as a GF2 and not as new as a GF4, eh?

Still a good card. I'm looking at getting one used.
My GF2 doesnt cut it in some games, and I dont wanna spend alot.
If I can find a new or used GF3 ti200 for $50-60 I think I would buy it.

They're about the cheapest reliable place you can get one.
You should also check www.pricewatch.com

One might think that the rapid disappearence of the Geforce 3 could mean
no-one wanted them. It is not the case here.

The geforce 3 is not produced anymore, actually is has been over a year
since it's production. There was quite a demand for the cards, and the
Geforce 3 Ti200 was hugely popular as it was the best bang for your buck.
The geforce 4 Ti4200 now holds that title.

Geforce 3 is a good card, still.
