new laptop for autocad 3D

Hi,

i need to purchase a laptop that can work with Autocad 3D.

currently my autocad 2013 is working on a XPS17 Dell and i experince:

1) poor graphic such as lines and boxes missing when i zoom in.

2) often program not responding when i use it for afew hours

3) there is once i tried to save my work and there is an error, the prog shuts down itself and i lost all my unsaved work.

4) the laptop seems to be more noisy after i uses autocad on it.

i will be doing ship drawing and modeling which require file size will be large.

i am base in australia, any recommendations?

Thanks!

Before replacing that laptop - have you made sure it is using the dedicated graphics card and not the low power gpu integrated on the cpu? That is a very common issue; those systems were designed to switch over for 3-d games, but aren't smart enough to recognize the need to switch for acad. From what I've read... you'll need to manually disable optimus and force the system to use the nvidia card. There are several threads on this topic over in the acad area of the forum.

If that's not the problem and you really do need a replacement; have you considered a desktop? They are more flexible, and potentially less expensive and more reliable.
