I am generally working with laser scanned 3d models, so very high detail.
My current computer is a Inspirion 546 with an amd phenom quad core 2.3 ghz, 8 gb of ram, and a ati radeon hd 4300/4500
one thing that I was informed was that the powersupply really sucks.
not sure if I should attempt to build one, whileI havent done such a thing in a while but feel I should get my feet wet again
Or just bite the bullet and get a new dell. however I really dont want to spend a huge amount of money I was thining at max around 900 something but def under 1k
I was almsot tempted to just get a new dell though I am worried about windows 8:

Any advice you can give would be great right now my comp chugs sometimes, sadly I dont know how to check a polygon count but a faces count I found on the scan I am working on now has 7.5 million faces. So I need something to take the edge off.
