help picking a laptop

I need help picking a laptop to use for school for the next two years. We will be able to download all the educational versions of the autodesk softwares and i need to know what system requirements to look for. Revit will be the largest software that we wil use, and my question is that if i get a laptop that will run revit, will it be able to run any other software that i need? what size RAM will i need to have on my laptop? does it require 4GB of permamnent RAM or just temporary RAM for instillation? Thanks in advance for the help and any information that i need to make my purchase.

Make sure you check out the product specific system requirements which can be found here. RAM is temporary in nature and would therefore only be relevant when utilizing / running the specific software program.
