A purchase of a Mac system is actual in our office - Mac Pro with ATI Radeon HD 5870 or iMac with AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Maya will be installed on that system and will be used for preparation before the actual rendering. The criterion for selection is better performance and better accuracy of the preview, using the Viewport 2.0 Enchancements.
The question is which system to choose - Mac Pro with times better 3D hardware, but supporting OpenGL onl.y ver.3.2 or iMac with weaker 3D hardware, but supportitg OpenGL ver.4.1?
Your opinion on the differences in performance and accuracy of Viewport 2.0 Enchancements are welcome! 🙂
