hey there.. i am using AutoCad 2014 on my laptop and want the best performance for 3d work..(not rendering) what is the best pc specifications i need? i have a hp 2000 notebook with (4gb RAM, AMD E1 processer *1.40GHz, AMD radeon 7310 Graphic card) windows 8 pro 64-bit.
4 GB RAM isn't great for a 64-bit OS and software, and is very underqualified for 3D work in AutoCAD or verticals. For any realistic AutoCAD work you should have at least 8 GB RAM; for 3D work 12 GB or more is better. The processor is a bit slow as well, usually 2 - 3 GHz is acceptable. If this is "only" for school work it should work with a lot of patience and simple examples.
Hello
1) The fastest Core i5/i7 possible ... 2.8/3.0 Ghz (or more) is good !
( ONLY ONE processor )
2) Please I prefer Win Seven (compared to Win Eight)
3) If it's to work really on medium/large projects, you need at minimum 12/16 Gb (or more)
On small projects (or trainings), 8/12 Gb could be enough ...
4) A very fast HD SATA , maybe SSD as primary HD if you have the budget
5) A graphics card with its OWN memory (1 Gb)
If you have a few money : NVidia Quadro Series 600/1000 or equivalent from ATI ...
Bye, Pat
