Leica Disto Classic 5

Feedback for anyone interested:
I bought the Leica Disto Classic a couple of weeks ago based on favorable
comments from this newsgroup. I primarily need to measure large buildings,
high ceilings, machinery location etc. So far this device has exceeded my
expectations. The accuracy and ease of use is amazing. I have to admit my
hands are not steady enough, free standing, to take accurate measurements
but by securing the device against a wall, column, floor or using a tri-pod
the readings are better than I could ever do with a tape.

This is not a review or recommendation. When I asked if anyone in this NG
had any experience with this device, a few were kind enough to reply. I
find I can accomplish in hours what would normally take days.

ditto what Matt said.

Remember you will not get a very good reading from stucco or in certain
bright sun light. Bring along a board that you can use when necessary.
Also,
make a board with a folding fin on it so it can stand up by itself.

I wish I had my own.

Willy,
have you bought one of these machines?
Looks awesome, but it's very pricey.
What cad software do you put it into if you do have one.
