I bought a Dell Latitude D800 with the mobile 1.7 processor. It is as far
as I can tell, similar to a P4 of higher Ghz rating. I was able to work in
top level machine assemblies without much difficulty. My reference is the
2.8 Xeon workstation I use at work, they aren't much different.
I am returning it because even for 5-6 hour weekend projects, running CAD
software on a laptop isn't practical because of the display size. Paying
$2500 for a laptop then adding a $700 monitor on top of it put me at the
same price as a P4 3.0 workstation with a FX500, which is what I bought
instead for home use because it doesn't give me a headache.
Anthony.
