Anyone tried haswell setup yet?

Ive been looking at spec's and performance of autocad again and i wondered if anyone had tried the new haswell chips yet?

Given autocad still doesn't make very effective use of multiple cores then a faster clock speed seems to be better. Haswell seems to be coming in pretty cheap comapred to the E5's and current raft of I7's, but wondering if anyone tried them yet?

Haswell i7 = £275 for 3.5ghz

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i74770k-1150-haswell-quad-core-35ghz-39ghz-turbo-1250mhz-g...

E5 2667 = £1200 for 2.9ghz

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-xeon-e5-2667-s2011-sandy-bridge-six-core-29ghz-15mb-cache-130w-...

i realise there alot more to it that just a hedline number hence asking if its been tried.

Printed specs always look impressive, but at that big price gap you probably build a rig and test it.

Hello from France

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4770k-haswell-performance,3461-5.html

Look at the result for the bench on 3DS Max 2012 :
102" for the new Core i7-3970X compared to 147" for the third generation Core i7-3770K
So it's about 30% improvement ...

When I read french litterature on fourth generation Haswell (and US/English too), I estimate
that it will not make a significant difference for ACAD / REVIT / INVENTOR / etc users !
compared to third generation Intel processeurs at the same speed !

For the end user, he will see something better when the speed is 50-100% faster ...

For example an Intel i7 3770K (third generation) overclocked a 4.0-4.4 Ghz
with an excellent cooling system outperforms many Xeons PCs ... And it's very stable !
plus a GTX 680 4Go, it's very fast !!

somethign i have noticed is the ram limit on haswell is currently 16gb, so half of the older chips, wonder if thats going to make much difference?
