AMD FX 8350 and Intel Core i5-3570

Has anyone specifically used either of these newer chips for an AutoCAD build? I though there used to be a hardware specific forum, but cannot seem to find it anymore.

I'll be using it for mostly 2D ACAD 2013 and 3D will mainly be handled by Rhino V5. GPU will remain my ATI Firepro V5800 and OS will be Win 7 Pro. Probably 12gb ram.

Anyone with specific real world experience using either of these 2 chips?

I have used my 3570 rig for cad on a limited basis; it is my home rig so only used intermittently for actual cad work. I've used it for 2-d acad and some civil3d work too.

It runs circles around the Q6600 and e8200 cpu based rigs at my office. The home rig uses 16Gb ram, 256 gb ssd, and a gtx670 gpu; I have yet to really challenge it with the limited 3-d use it's seen.

I have no experience with the recent AMD offerings to compare to though. Good luck with your decision 🙂
